The Bihar Public Service Commission () has revised the advertisement for its 71st Combined Competitive Exam, increasing the total number of available positions from 1,250 to 1,298. This revision includes the addition of 34 new positions across various departments, such as the Sub-Divisional Backward and Extremely Backward Class Welfare Officer and Assistant Director positions, among others.

BPSC 71st Combined Competitive Exam: New Vacancies Added

Originally, the BPSC had announced vacancies for 1,250 positions, but with the recent update, an additional 34 vacancies have been added, the total number of posts 1,298. These new vacancies are part of several departments in Bihar, which are critical for various administrative functions.

The newly added positions include:

  • 27 posts for Sub-Divisional Backward and Extremely Backward Class Welfare Officer.

  • 2 posts for Assistant Director in the Social Welfare Department.

  • 1 post in the Divyangjan Sashaktikaran Koshang (Disability Empowerment Fund) under the Social Welfare Department.

  • 2 posts for Child Protection Unit in the Social Welfare Department.

  • 2 posts for Assistant Director in the Cooperative Department.

In addition to the initial vacancies, 14 DSP positions (Deputy Superintendent of Police) were added, bringing the total to 1,264 vacancies. Now, with the inclusion of 34 new vacancies, the total number of available posts stands at 1,298. These vacancies are spread across several important departments, including:

  • Assistant Director in the Social Cell, Social Welfare Department.

  • Assistant Registrar, Cooperative Societies and equivalent positions in the Cooperative Department.

  • Sub-Divisional Backward and Extremely Backward Class Welfare Officers.

Application Details: Last Date and Exam Schedule

The application deadline for the BPSC 71st Combined Competitive Exam is set for June 30, 2025. The Preliminary Exam for the 71st Combined Competitive Exam is tentatively scheduled for August 30, 2025.

So far, 17 departments have sent their vacancies to BPSC. The commission has also corresponded with additional departments, and any further vacancies received will be included in the final list.
